Instructions
- Pre-Register Here
By pre-registering here, you will receive priority status when registering for Sachlav. Even if you can't register for a few days after registration opens, by pre-registering you will hold your spot for a few extra days.
No eligible recruit of Rob or Lori has ever been denied a trip or even wait-listed. We will prioritize you, because we advocate for you.
- On Feb. 17, 2010 (Feb. 16 for prior registrants), the registration will open up on the Taglit-Birthright Israel homepage.
If the site doesn't load on that day, don't fret. So many people are trying to sign up at once that the site tends to crash season after season. Don't worry about not getting on the trip. As long as you register within a few days afterwards, you will get on a trip.
Don't wait until the last minute though, if you are thinking about going and not sure, you still need to register or you won't get on a trip.
- Sachlav will contact you to ask for an interview and deposit.
Don't worry about the interview. The Sachlav office staff is just making sure you are who you say you are.
Don't worry about the deposit. Even though the trip is completely free, you will be asked to put down a deposit to hold your spot. If you decide not to go, you can cancel up to a month before departure and get a full refund. If you attend the trip, you will receive your deposit back at the end of the trip.
- Get a passport.
I can't tell you how many participants I've had that couldn't get on the airplane at the airport because they forgot to get a passport. If you already have one, check the date, and make sure it's good through the end of the summer.
Don't wait until the last minute. The US State Department, in their infinite ability to look and act like a government agency, will take their sweet time getting you a new passport, even if it means missing your trip.
- Your counselors will contact you.
You should receive a phone call or an e-mail from your counselors by mid-April. They will become your primary point of contact for the trip. Make sure to be in touch with them. Read their e-mails, and respond to them if necessary. Answer their phone calls.
- Show up to the airport. Get on the airplane. Enjoy!
